DQM x Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache

words_Nick Engvall

There is no shortage of creativity when it comes to boutiques in the sneaker culture. In fact, there seems to be as many unique ideas when it comes to shop concepts, as there are colorways these days. One of the shops that is always able to stand out is New York’s DQM. They’ve taken a sneaker shop, combined it with the feel of an old butcher shop, and the result is Dave’s Quality Meat, or DQM for short.

DQM’s relationship with Nike is nothing new, as they’ve collaborated a handful of times, including about 5 years ago on the memorable “Bacon” colorway of the Nike Air Max 90. It looks like they have been in the butcher shop with Nike again, this time slicing up second helpings of “Bacon” in the form of the Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache.

Meshing aspects of two legendary Nike runners, the Air Max 90 and the Air Huarache, gives a unique twist to this relatively young silhouette. Combining significant elements like the plastic heel piece from the Huarache and paneling from the Air Max 90, along with Current technology, creates a healthy balance of style and performance. DQM’s catchy bacon inspired colorway adds just the right amount of flavor to have many heads salivating over these.

Available now at select Nike retailers such as Proper.

UM, no bacon please! But I’ll have some of these. Sweet on this colorway. I was hate’n on this shoe big time. The 90’s have been getting pimped out hard and I has against any more of the monster mashes! I did like the black on black that came out last month. I thought it was classy and did not take away from the shoe. SO, that being said, I like this shoe. I am old and I remember when the 90 was new, so for mixing a classic with the new I thought was a little disrespectful. I am never too drunk to admit when I’m wrong, we never lie…
