Professional skateboarding continually opens doors for other opportunities. It seems nearly every skateboarder has a short list of other ambitions: either start a clothing line, open their own shop, or become a “musician” of some sort. The equation has become somewhat repetitive. So when someone with a little more ambition, or a slightly broader vision of the possibilities in this world comes along, it’s like a breath of fresh air.
Well, the latest breath of fresh air is Anthony Pappalardo. Rather than trying to be a rock star, Anthony’s second love behind skateboarding is much more creative. Pappalardo creates art. Art in the form of furniture. Pops is never one to follow someone else’s path, he stays true to himself. In a world of flamboyant skateboarders, he just does what he loves, and he does it well. From the art and furniture exhibition he recently put on in New York, to his skateboarding, when he puts his mind to it good things happen. That’s why Converse Skateboarding has hooked him up with his very own pro model, the Pappalardo Pro.
For the first version of the Pappalardo Pro, CONS has teamed up with PRODUCT(RED) to help fight the AIDS/HIV disease in Africa. The Pappalardo Pro is a simple silhouette that parallels Anthony’s own mellow style. By joining together with PRODUCT(RED), Anthony is able to help people in need by simply doing what he loves. While this model won’t become available until the spring of next year, you can check out a short video on the details of Pops and his PRODUCT(RED) project on Crailtap.

I just got my pair today. I haven’t skated them yet, but so far they feel awesome. Right out of the box, they felt like they were already broken in.
