For the average person, there are two things that have become synonymous with San Francisco, bridges and bread bowls. For some of us, two other words are a better representation of The City, sneakers and skateboarding. The roots of both sneaker and skateboarding culture have always been closely knit, but those roots have never been more tightly woven than they are in San Francisco. Even more specifically in the city’s legendary skate spot, the Embarcadero.

Any given day you can hit up the EMB and find yourself in awe of the sneakers, or the skaters, like Chico Brenes, who made the move from amateur to pro by putting in work there. Chico is the latest of many skateboarders to have grown up skating the EMB and see his hard work pay off with big name sponsors. Two of those sponsors have recently come together to create a line of signature sneakers and apparel for the long time pro. In addition, to win some more points with the old schoolers, they use some of Chico’s early sponsor graphics from World Industries as inspiration.

When you’ve been skating pro for going on 20 years like Chico Brenes, it’s possible anything you decide to put on your signature skate shoe would sell. Thankfully Brenes decided to pick some tasteful inspirations for his latest collaboration with LRG and DVS. The Munition CT Mid is a silhouette that doesn’t need much to find a way onto most feet. Its classic styling cues, combined with a vulcanized sole and performance punch like the Bruise Control™ technology, make it an easy choice for daily grinding. To give these some extra flair, they’ve been outfitted with Chico and LRG branding on the tongue and heel area.

   these shoes are sick. I just got the red and black plaid ones and they are super comfortable and have great feel and style, also they have amazing grip.
