To commemorate Black History Month this year, Nike Sportswear has reworked the Air Force 1 Low. This year’s version has its inspiration lasered into the upper with the words “The definition of a renaissance individual: one who possesses a multitude of skills, talent and a broad base of knowledge.” The silhouette of a man and woman can be seen on the hang tag and insole which signifies the participation of both genders in the change celebrated by Black History Month. Other details on this year’s version include red and green accents as well as a tongue tag featuring “Black History Month 2010″ and lace tag featuring the abbreviated “BHM 2010.”
Nike will also be donating to Cheyney University in Pennsylvania, the oldest black institution in the country. The 2010 Black History Month Air Force 1 will be available beginning February 18th at the following retailers:
