wouldnt upgrade until all/most the bugs are fixed, just like what happened to vista, xp.. etc..
plus it is easy to get a free upgrade, but i wouldn't suggest that cause your computer probably cant handle it. Not sure of specifics with W7. same with people who had xp and upgraded to vista premium.

^I don't think you have to worry about that with today's hardware. If you can run vista, then you certainly can run W7.
