I gotta question. If I heat glue after it is applied will it make it stronger?

^^^ all heating will do is make the glue spread, thus making the bond weak, so dont heat it up!!

TIP FOR A PEOPLE USING GLUE ON SHOES:
-When buying a glue at a store, ask the employees at the location for info on the type of glue to use for certain projects!!
-if u find 'gluing' too intense for you, then just take the shoes to a shoe repair & ask them too be extra careful with the shoes!!

thanks. i bought it today after reading this. which would be a better way to use it, putting the shoes in the wash and adding rit or putting rit on a rag and scrubbing it in? I bought the powder version btw (in case there was a solid bar, idk )

Im hoping someone knows how to clean cross stitching......

Example :
The "23" stitched on the sides of the AJV's or the Jumpman Stitched on to the AJIII's tongue. The red color doesn't look vibrant anymore looks a little dull, maybe stained by jeans resting on it. I've tried just some soap and cold water and let it sit but that didn't help much and being that its cross stitched I know scrubbing is out of the question.

Any suggestions?

try some detergent instead of soap,(it usually is stronger)and scrubbing lightly with a soft brissled toothbrush should do the trick, and warm water. just keep scrubbing for a few minutes in circular motions, but remember to do it lightly.

Ok this worked well the color came back some what.....But now I have a darker colored ring around the area the Jumpman was in I guess from the left over water. Will this dry back to the regular color or stay a shade darker? I am working on Original Shadow X's and the back Jumpman was discolored so the material is nubuck suede, I think.

it may go away by its own, if it dosen't, try blowdrying over the area with a blowdryer. or, if you want to renew the suede's color and texture, use some baby oil on them.that dark spot would also blend in if it dosen't go away. Thumbs Up

I actually used some Lincoln on it and brushed it in, and back to normal!
Looks great, the red is still not as red as it should be. I cant figure out what could be on it, I'm assuming maybe jean dye.

so baby oil would work somewhat to renew suede color and texture?

^^^ yep it works fine on suede, just as long as u dont put too much on 1 area!! also remember that u have to rub the oil in circular motion so it settles in!!!

the powder is also what I used and I don't think it's available in any other form
What I did was filled a small container with very hot water and added about half an envelope of rit to it and stirred it with a toothbrush to help dissolve it. I wet the mesh with a clean rag and then using the same toothbrush, I would dip in the solution and then brush the mesh followed by wiping the area with a wet rag and repeating the process about 4-5 times. The rit acts almost like bleach and stinks too but the end results were worth it because the shoes looked even whiter when they dried

How would I apply it? Would I have to use my fingers, a brush, a rag? If a rag, does color matter?

How would I apply it? Would I have to use my fingers, a brush, a rag? If a rag, does color matter?

^^^ for large areas, use a very soft toothbrush! for small areas, use ur finger! basically apply a small amount of baby oil to the tip/top of toothbrush. then brush the suede in either a circular motion (but dont brush too hard or too fast cuz u might mess up the suede!!). if u dont see any improvement, then add a little more, but dont over do it or u'll end up with a greasy mess!! i've never used a rag becuz rags tend to leave un-needed lint stuck to the suede, which can be a hassle to remove after applying baby oil!! NOW, I DONT GUARANTEE THAT THE SUEDE WILL LOOK EXACTLY LIKE BEFORE, BUT IT WILL DARKEN UP... THUS GIVING IT A MORE RICH TEXTURE!!

i'll be recording a video this week to show ya'll how to use the baby oil on suede!! ill see if i can post it in here!! ill also be recording some clean-up techniques to share with ya'll!!! Very Happy Thumbs Up

you can trim away that piece that's protruding and sand the area down followed by filling the hole with caulking, smoothing it out and repainting with some angelus
