^All jeans stretch out, with enough hard wear it should go out to a 30, but if I were you I would just take the initiative and just size to 29, not 30
My slim jims are 29 and I'm a true 30 as well.

Alright guys I got 2 questions. First off, I'm thinking about getting some APC's but i heard they run pretty long (34). I'm only 5'6 and I usually wear 30-32, depending on the jeans. Will they look too sloppy if I decide to buy them?

Also, if I get the New Standards, what size should I get after sizing down?I usually buy my regular straight jeans in 30x30, and slim jeans usually in 31x31 or 32x32. I have big thighs, so I'm looking for more of a fitted look, not too tight and not too baggy. Thanks in advance lol.

I just got my New Standard yesterday and here is what I have to say. I'm about the same height 5'7-5'8ish and the inseam of 34 is really long. I usually get a 32x30 in other denims so im gonna have to get a hem job on my New Standard. For someone your height and my height, the stacking just looks sloppy because its so long.

As stated before, Im a 32x30 on most denims and I sized down 2 on the NS. When I tried them on yesterday, it fitted real good but I heard and felt that APC NS stretches like crazy. I had a few centimeters left over on my waist, so I decided to exchange mines for a 28x34. Some say the perfect fit is when you have to struggle to button up the first button because it will eventually stretch out into a nice fit.

Hope that helps.

Well, after reading what you said I got a tape measure and my inseam turned out to be 32. So I must have pretty long legs for my height lols. I think I'm gonna go ahead with the NS and if it looks too bad I'll go get em hemmed.

They're well worth the price that they are sold for. They will hold up for some time (longer than other jeans that you could buy for that much) and generally give a solid vintage fade. The cut is also very versatile, and can be worn in various different aesthetics.

yup

they'll be garbage if they jack up the price, but until then
buy as many test pairs as you want

Actually I decided to size down 3. So will be exchanging my 30x34 for a 29x34.

is it a good idea to wear unsanforized denim for awhile and then soak after a week or two? i have a pair of unsanforized denim and it fits perfectly therefore, soaking them might be too tight at the end. i thought about soaking the bottom block first and then do the top block but thought it took too much time.

You could try wedging something in between the waistline when you soak them. It might help prevent some shrinkage if not most.

what happens if i choose to skip the whole soaking process completely?

If you have fades that have settled in and you decide to soak them after, they'll shift from the shrinkage.

this.

and also,

I have some Levi slouch skinnys (520) that i just started breaking in for honeycombs and whiskers. The length is just fine but i wanted to shrink the waist. The length is 30 and the waist is 32 but the seat is a little baggy. Should i sit the upper of the jean in the warm water and just let that shrink.? if so, how far down should in the water should i go and will it be irregular fitting throughout the jean afterwards.?

another, how long will this set back my breaking in process.?
