I decided to fdisk the hardrive since i backed up everything to another external hardrive.....
*Also keep in mind every time i put a cd in it makes weird noises when reading the disc... sounds like a DJ scratching vinyl*
So i pop in the WinXP disk....delete the old partition.....create a new partition and click Enter to install WinXp on it....
I then did the NTFS reformat option and it starts doing its lil reformat process......
Then it says it needs to restart itself....like usual..........then it reboots and waits a minute....but it doesnt pick up where it left off....
Its supposed to resume the installation and you start to see pics and WinXP graphics and sh*t....but mine goes
to a blue screen (of death...i guess) and has this error message.....
stop: c0000221 unknown hard error
/systemroot/system32/ntdll.dll
well this sucks.....i typed that error message into google and other ppl claim to have the same prob
but there are no real solutions to the problem.........
i really dont want to take it to a pc repair guy because they are crooks....
But i think i either need a new Hardrive or cd drive....
* I have a Dell XPS M140 laptop* so i cant just take it apart like i could a desktop.......
But if you have any suggestions please feel free to help...
Im not sure if i should just buy a new pc or what......
Any help is greatly appreciated..... |
format the partitions over again. and try a different XP disk. _________________ S4Ls Collection post

Since yesterday I've had a quirky problem with my internet. It seems that I am only able to view and load google based sites. So google.com and gmail.com work perfectly fine but any other site it takes forever to load then eventually times out, but rarely I sometimes manage to load up a site and even then it isn't the full website. I have no idea what triggered this since the only thing I do on my computer is CoD4 and check my routine sites of iss, gmail, craigslist, youtube.
I am running windows xp sp2 and avg free edition. I did a search on google from a different computer and I found that many people have similar problems but no one has a clear answer to resolving it.
Another piece of info is my brother runs off the same network wirelessly from my computer and he is experiencing the same problems.
**I just found some more info on the net that AT&T (my isp) might be at fault**

Hopefully, that's my case as well. |

Re-format.
You would need your Windows OS disk or the system recovery disc that came with your computer. _________________

system restore will get rid of some of your viruses but it might remove some of the programs installed before the time you restore it to.
I say your best bet of course is to reformat. _________________
