Looks like your seats were pretty damn good if you were down where the fighter sat. I'm guessing you were sitting in the section with the folding chairs? |
I was in the first row behind the folding chairs, the folding chairs were for ufc employees basically ..! My seats were beyond awesome. where were you sitting? |
I was in the section behind your section, but it was in the corner that Machida came out of for the main event.

This is the bullsh*t Cecil Peoples said about Machida winning at UFC 104:
| Quote: | "First of all what you need to understand is that from where the judges are sitting, we get to see things that the fans at home may miss. Mauricio Rua was being aggressive but it wasn't effective aggressiveness which is what we as the judges look for when scoring a fight. The way I saw it, Lyoto was landing the more cleaner and damaging strikes throughout the fight - if you take a look at the judging criteria clean strikes are valued more-so than the quantity of strikes landed. Although Rua threw a lot of low kicks they were not as damaging as Lyoto's diverse attack in the earlier rounds which is why I scored the first three rounds for Machida. You have to keep in mind we always the favor the fighter who is trying to finish the fight, and leg kicks certainly don't do that.
When both fighters are engaged in a striking match what I always look for is the fighter who is being judicious, picking his spots, being accurate and landing the cleaner strikes which ultimately is what Lyoto did more effectively than Rua. Lyoto made Shogun come after him, he determined where the fight took place which in my opinion constitutes as effective Octagon control. I recognize the fact that Rua did have a few takedown attempts during the course of the fight however Lyoto defended them all successfully which counts as effective grappling in his favor, where as unsuccessful takedown attempts are not scored at all. Therefore going by that criteria, I believe Lyoto won the fight clearly. I'm just glad the other judges on the panel saw it the same way and I'm sure the fans who understand the technicalities of the sport agree with the decision too." |
 |
Cecil Peoples is a fucking idiot. It was a close fight, and arguably could have gone either way, but most feel Shogun edged out Machida. Peoples' justification is ridiculous. Based on Peoples' explanation of Octagon control, if Shogun would have just stood there and stared at Machida he would have won Octagon control. _________________

sorry for the multi-post.....
| Quote: | Strikeforce signs Zaromskis
Dream welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis has come to terms on a multi-fight contract with Strikeforce, according to officials within the promotion.
An emerging superstar at 170 pounds, the 29-year-old Lithuanian could make his promotional debut on Dec. 19 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. Zaromskis will still compete inside the Japan-based Dream organization, which has formed an alliance with Strikeforce.
Having supplanted Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic as the man with the sport’s most-feared feet, Zaromskis last competed at Dream 12 on Oct. 25, when he leveled Korean Myeon Ho Bae with a first-round head kick in a non-title affair. He captured the Dream welterweight crown in July, as he stopped Affliction veteran Jason High and respected Japanese standout Hayato "Mach" Sakurai on the same night. Both were victimized by Zaromskis head kicks.
Spawned by the London Shootfighters camp, Zaromskis joins a stable of Strikeforce welterweights that includes former EliteXC champion Jake Shields, UFC veteran Nick Diaz and one-time International Fight League titleholder Jay Hieron.

^^^ funny how Jake Shields said he'd stay at MW temporarily until Strikeforce gets better WW fighters for him to compete against.... now he's got some stiff competition (NO HOMO); IMO Zaromskis VS Shields would be a great fight!!

| Quote: | Anderson Silva VS Vitor Belfort not happening at UFC 108 in January!
"The latest is he's not fighting Jan. 2," Soares said. "That's not going to happen. He won't be ready."
Silva recently had bone spurs removed from his right elbow, and the rehabilitation necessary following the procedure means Silva won't be ready to defend his title in a proposed UFC 108 matchup with Vitor Belfort.
As for when Silva will be ready to fight again, Soares said nothing is yet certain.
"We have to wait and see," Soares said. "Anderson went back to Brazil, and he's continuing his physical therapy there. But there's no set date yet."
But Soares insisted the progress was ahead-of-schedule, and Silva fans have no cause for concern.
"Anderson's recovery is going really, really well," Soares said. "He's coming back, and his recovery is doing really good. His physical therapy is going really well. He's getting better range of motion. He'll be back 100 percent for sure."
While he's not sure exactly when Silva will again step into the octagon, Soares assumes Belfort will still be the opponent on the opposite side of cage.
"I think it's going to be Vitor when Anderson comes back," Soares said. "That's what I'm assuming."
And though Soares has openly questioned the UFC's decision to grant Belfort a middleweight title shot despite the fact that he has yet to fight in the organization at 185 pounds, Silva's manager said he and his fighter are now looking forward to the test.
"At the end of the day, it's going to be a great fight," Soares said. "Like I said before, I don't think [Belfort] deserves a title shot, but that's over with now. It is what it is.
"Whoever the UFC puts in front of us, we'll fight. We've never picked our opponents." |

The UFC trying to give kimbo a win by giving him a smaller opponent. These catchweights are retarded. The UFC roster is huge, they don't need to keep having people fight in imaginary weightclasses.
Can't wait for Strikeforce. It'll be weird seeing Fedor fight in a cage. _________________ NTer's Are Some of the Most Retarded People on the Internet |

- shogun v machida wasnt that bad of a robbery. i could say that there were 2/3 rounds that were up for grabs, and i guess machida won all of them. and peoples just needs to stfu and stop trying to justify his scoring
- i am scared for fedor this weekend. rogers' ko power and intensity is a wildcard that you can never predict. if fedor loses i will be jaw-dropped and wide-eyed for a couple of days
- i may be saying this too early (like i did with sokdjou) but zaromskis is top 5 in his division. and im glad he's with strikeforce, just imagine diaz v zaromskis....my boy diaz would handle it
- johnson and kos are gamers. taking every fight they can get. this fight has #1 or #2 contender written all over it.
- and chad mendes has signed with wec _________________ Team I Wanna Be In Team L.A.R.K.

seems like Shogun VS Machida 2 aint gonna be happening at UFC 108. the injury Machida recieved to his left hand, during UFC 104, will set him back a few weeks before he can begin to train again. also the UFC felt like Machida needed to heal his injuries before stepping into the cage again. his injuries range from broken ribs to a huge laceration on his upper lip...
* i guess that we'll have to wait a long time till we see Shogun destroy Machida for a second time!!!
***also for the dudes up there... i have Fedor taking it in the 1st/2nd Rd via Armbar or maybe even a KO.... all depends on how Rogers approaches Fedor!! |
I've read this article and I was thinking on how bad it seems it should take a long time to recover and rehab so I was thinking of making an interim title.
Shogun vs Couture/Vera/Evans/Silva
