Try the customs marketplace or the NYC thread.

ISS member TheSoleSeekerCom may do that. You could PM him or post in the customs marketplace.

People have used raw deniem on customs. I don't see how you are going to (or why you would want to) get fades on your sneakers. If you want to beat some shoes up and have them look better with age consider quality cowboy / work boots.

I am having squeaking problems with my Metallic 5s from 99. I cleared the bubbles using a blow dryer btw. I believe I should try using baby powder? How should I apply it though? Remove the insole and sprinkle it?
Also, does unfogging air bubbles with a hair blower under very hot circumstances affect the materials on the shoe including the area surrounding the air bubble of shoes like the 3s,4s,5s,6s? The little rectangular box surrounded by part of the midsole.. Or is this technique 100 % safe and doesn't affect wearability of the shoe.
Thanks in advance _________________ http://www.solecollector.com/forums/mp_search.php?search_name=xtennisplayer96

i've pulled up the insole and poured a lil powder in and it worked. if it keeps squeaking, put a lil more powder.

thanks in advance. | You could look for another brand of leather paint's duller. There are also matte finish products if you want to try that route. You can use a search engine or check in an art store. _________________ The paradox is in the ugliness of vanity.

SORRY I KNOW ITS ALOT/LONG BUT ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED...THANX
#1 how do you get those gold things around lace holes?
#2 how do you get carbon fiber on a shoe?
#3 How do you engrave suede
#4 How do you put that flap thingy over the laces
4a. how do you give it the wooden effect
4b. can you paint the midsoles/bottom of shoes or add spekles?
#5 how do you texurize leather
#6 how do you add those blue hanging things to the back of them
#7 How do you give it the basketball effect, (im referring to the blue outline that has the texture of a basketball, but help on how to make all those small colorful ones would be nice too.)
#8 How do you add pictures
#9 How do you get custom laces, do you make them or buy them?
9a. How do you color mesh, i know you dont paint it, so do you die it? Or where can you buy colored mesh and how do you apply it ?
9b. how did he do that effect behind the words "thirst" where its brown?
#10 can i please have any tips to how these were made. it seems that it would be difficult to add this brite plasticy stuff to the shoe...and how did they do that to the bottom?
#11 How do you replace the back flap thingy on dunks/
11a. and how do you replace the nike sign for another texture, because if you look closley on the second picture you can see that the swoosh is like a little fuzzy looking.
#12. Can I also have any tips to how these were made, and please specify how the zipper was put on on the second picture.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!! |

Grommet fasteners or eyelet pliers. You may also need a punch.
| Quote: | | #2 how do you get carbon fiber on a shoe? |
It's a material you use to reconstruct, or recon, a shoe.
| Quote: | | #3 How do you engrave suede |
Wood burner or dremel.
| Quote: | | #4 How do you put that flap thingy over the laces |
It is made of leather or another textile and it attaches to the laces.
| Quote: | | 4a. how do you give it the wooden effect |
Woodburner
| Quote: | | 4b. can you paint the midsoles/bottom of shoes or add spekles? |
You can but to the best of my knowledge the midsole paint job will crack. Speckles hold up better.
| Quote: | | #5 how do you texurize leather |
Woodburner
| Quote: | | #6 how do you add those blue hanging things to the back of them |
The OG swoosh was removed and a new one was made and attached. The new swoosh had the extra material that mimics leo's headband.
| Quote: | | #7 How do you give it the basketball effect, (im referring to the blue outline that has the texture of a basketball, but help on how to make all those small colorful ones would be nice too.) |
Dark blue dots on a lighter base. Colorful ones are hand painted.
| Quote: | | #8 How do you add pictures |
Paint them, screen print or printable canvas.
| Quote: | | #9 How do you get custom laces, do you make them or buy them? |
Both... try fullylaced.com (or similar sites) or add paint or dye to laces.
| Quote: | | 9a. How do you color mesh, i know you dont paint it, so do you die it? Or where can you buy colored mesh and how do you apply it ? |
I add fabric medium to leather paint for mesh. I guess you could dye it w/ another product. You could do a recon w/ colored mesh.
| Quote: | | 9b. how did he do that effect behind the words "thirst" where its brown? |
It's airbrushed.
| Quote: | | #10 can i please have any tips to how these were made. it seems that it would be difficult to add this brite plasticy stuff to the shoe...and how did they do that to the bottom? |
These are a reconstruction. The bottom is from the base.
| Quote: | | #11 How do you replace the back flap thingy on dunks/ |
Remove OG material, make a stencil, make a new pannel and attach it.
| Quote: | | 11a. and how do you replace the nike sign for another texture, because if you look closley on the second picture you can see that the swoosh is like a little fuzzy looking. |
The swoosh was replaced with new material.

please tell me what i would need, and the best brands. | Read the customs stickies. You can look in the archive at older customs too. Paintorthread.com is a customs blog with good info. Other sites (sneaker forums) have the same basic info. A $10ish woodburner works but you can spring for a better model ($70+) if you plan on using it a lot. For brushes, get a range of acrylic brushes... fine tipped brushes are very useful.

It is a matter of trial and error. Shop around for cheap bases, go to work and post 'em up for feedback. _________________ The paradox is in the ugliness of vanity.
