How do I change my avi. Every time I try to change it, it says upload JPG files only.

My advice, document everything. It will make your life much easier down the line. And assuming they know nothing is a good piece of advise too.

Open up the picture on an image editing software (Paint), go to File>Save As, and change the file type the .jpg.
argh, damn I changed the name of the picture in paint to .JPG. and pressed the browse button, in the upload part of upadte avi, what might be wrong still.
It still says please upload jpg files only.

As Pat said, you can, just choose your external when it prompts you for the directory to install to.
I don't believe Adobe applications are like other software where you just drag to the applications folder.

Congratulations! I hope you don't lose your head dealing with stubborn non-techical people.
The only tip I have for guiding people over the phone is always assume that the person you are helping knows NOTHING about about computers. You'll get a mix of callers surely and you never know if they know what you know so it is safe to assume they are all non-technical.
Other than that I hope you have fun. Who knows, maybe I'll be talking to you over the phone one day.
