You may see these words all over the shoe world, usually referring to a specific colorway or shoe. Typically for Air Jordans.

- BIN - Buy It Now
- FSR - Full Size Run
- H/O - High Offer
- S/O - Starting Offer
- Bump - Bring Up My Post. Used to send a topic to the top of a forum, by making a new post in the topic.
- Lowball - To offer well below the actual asking price/worth of the item.
- NIB - New In Box
- NWT - New With Tags
- NWOT - New Without Tags
- OBO - Or Best Offer
- Shipped - The total price for an item, including shipping.
- YGM - You Got Mail
- LMK - Let Me Know
- LYK - Let You Know
- Ballpark - General price range for an item.
- Flake - When someone reneges on the agreed terms of a transaction
- Firm - A price that is set by the seller and is not subject to negotiation.
- FS - For sale
- FT - For trade
- FS/T - For sale or trade
- Ref/reference - A member who you have dealt with in a Marketplace transaction. Please be sure to cross-check references a member supplies you.
General Shoe Vocab
Words/acronyms you'll see all over SC.
- SC - Sole Collector. Can refer to Sole Collector Magazine or this board.
- ISS - InStyleShoes. Can refer to Instyleshoes.com or this board.
- COF - Chamber Of Fear - limited edition Air Force 1's released at Sole Collector events in 2005.
- DS - Deadstock, meaning a shoe that has never been worn or even tried on.
- NDS - Near Deadstock, meaning shoes that are close to looking new.
- VNDS - Very Near Deadstock, meaning shoes that are almost exactly new (lightly worn; beware that this is overused).
- SB - Skateboarding, usually refers to Skateboarding Dunks, Nike Dunks that are made for skateboarding.
- SE - Special Edition
- PE - Player Exclusive, a special markup/colorway of a shoe made specifically for gameplay for an athlete.
- AF1 - Nike Air Force 1
- AM - Nike Air Max
- Co.JP - Concept Japan, a type of Nike shoe exclusive to Japan.
- Retro - A shoe that has been re-released years after its initial release. For example, Retro Air Jordan XIs are Jordan XIs released after the general release of XIs in 1996.
- J's - Air Jordans
- OG - Originals, used to differentiate between retros.
- Beaters - Usually shoes that someone wears without care. For example, a pair worn so much that someone will wear them in the rain and not care.
- PL - Patent leather
- CL - Classic lining
- GR - General Release, a shoe released to major chains.
- GS - General School, refers to kid sizes of shoes.
- LS - Lifestyle, refers to shoes generally sold along with matching clothing
- Grails/Holy Grails - Your personal most sought after shoe(s). Usually hard to obtain.
- Quickstrike - A limited release, with no announcement of the exact release date (usually). Typically only released to urban accounts.
- Hyperstrike - Just like a Quickstrike, but very, very limited (usually around 25-100 pairs).
- JB - Jordan Brand, makers of the Air Jordan shoe line. Part of Nike, Inc.
- HOA - History of Air, a pack of Nike Air Maxs.
- Uptowns - Air Force 1s
- FL - Finishline
- FA - Footaction
- AF - Athlete's Foot
- NT - Niketown or Niketalk.
- NDC - Niketown.com
- Urban accounts - Stores that have a special type of account that allows them to receive limited and special releases.
- RD- Release Date, when a shoe is released to the public.
- Fakes - Variant shoes, usually referring to knockoff Nikes that look almost exactly like the originals.
- BG/B-Grades - Shoes that have a factory error on them, such as excess glue. Usually does not come with a box, and has "B" stamped on the inside. Sometimes the difference to an A-Grade is almost unnoticeable.
- Lace locks - Little latches that 'lock' the laces in place. Seen on Jordan Vs and VIs first.
- Heat - just means any hot/dope/awesome/nice shoes (pl.)
General Internet Vocab

- PM - Private Message, refers to the private message system we have on this board. "PM me" means, "Send me a private message."
- Gravedigging - Posting in a very old topic, bringing it to the top of the forum.
- Postwhoring/Freeposting - Posting in a huge number of topics (usually in one forum) in a short period of time. Typically the posts are useless or add nothing to the topic.
- WTF - What The F*ck?
- SMH - Shaking My Head
- IMO/IMHO - In My Opinion or In My Humble Opinion
- AFAIK - As Far As I Know
- FTW - For The Win
- FTL - For The Loss or "Follow The Leader," a thread game which you may see on this board.
- Bump - Posting in a topic for the sole purpose of brining it to the top of the first page of the forum so it is seen by more people.
- LMAO - Laughing My Ass Off
- LOL - Laughing Out Loud
- <3 - Heart (look at it sideways). Usually means "love."
- PS - Adobe Photoshop, the image editing application.
- QFT - Quoted for truth.
- ROFL - Rolling On the Floor Laughing
- Newbie - Someone who is new to a website/message board.
- G.O.A.T. - Greatest Of All Time
- WDYWT - What Did You Wear Today?
Specific Shoe Names
You may see these words all over the shoe world, usually referring to a specific colorway or shoe. Typically for Air Jordans.
- Frenchies - A french blue colorway. Commonly used for Jordan VIIs or XIIs retroes.
- Olys - Any Olympic colorway. A special markup used in the summer Olympics. Usually refers to the Jordan VI or VII.
- DMP - Defining Moments Pack by Brand Jordan
- Breds - Any black/red colorway (combined to form 'bread'). Commonly used for Jordan IVs, XIs, and XIIs.
- Space Jams - The Jordan XI (black/royal blue/white) colorway seen in the movie Space Jam. (abbreviation: SJs)
- True Blues - Used for the Jordan III retro colorway (white/true blue). (abbreviation: TBs)
- Cool Greys - Any 'cool grey' colorway. Commonly used for Jordan XIs, IXs, or IVs retros. (abbreviation: CGs)
- Carmines - The very rare Jordan VI carmine colorway.
- Concords - The popular white/black colorway of the Jordan XI.
- Columbias - The hue of blue used for the UNC tarheels. Used for the popular white/columbia/black colorway of the Jordan XI.
- Flints - Grey hue commonly used for either the blue mids colorway of the Jordan XIII (blue/grey/white) or the retro of the Jordan XII (white/grey).
- Lightnings - The white/lightning colorway of the low Jordan XVII.
- Black toes - The very rare black toe colorway of the Jordan I.
- Laneys - Laney is the high school Michael Jordan went to. Laneys refer to the Jordan V in Jordan's high school colors (white/royal/maize).
- Aquas - The rare OG colorway of the Jordan VIII in black/bright concord/aqua tone.
- Cardinals - The white/black/cardinal colorway of the Jordan VII.
- Wheats - The white/wheat colorway of the Jordan XIII retro.
- Militaries - The rare (soon to be retroed) military blue/white colorway of the Jordan IV.
- Cements - Any colorway with cement print, usually refers to the white/red/cement or the black/red/cement colorways of the Jordan III.
- Infrareds - Usually refers to the black/deep infrared Jordan VI or the white/deep infrared Air Max 90.
- Melos - The Jordan II retro that was made in a carolina blue/yellow/white colorway to match the Denver Nugget's jerseys (for which Carmelo Anthony plays).
- Altitudes - The black/altitude green colorway of the Jordan XIII.
- Sheed - Any Air Force 1 that are made in special colorways for Rasheed Wallace.
- Playoffs - Any Jordan that Jordan wore in the playoffs, usually refers to the black/white colorway of the Jordan XII.
- Hares - The white/light silver-true red colorway of the Jordan VII. Called "Hares" because they appeared in ads with Bugs Bunny.
- 90s - Air Max 90 running shoes.
- 95s - Air Max 95 running shoes.
- 97s - Air Max 95 running shoes.
