New mods aren't even needed to cut down scamming. Need more who are good at legit checks for sneaker exchange.
All the site needs to do is have the do's/don't of buying/selling/trading automatically placed on the top of every listing in big bold red letters. Make paypal mandatory. Make sneaker exchange mandatory for trades. If all the things of what not to do are clear as day in front of your face and you still choose to ignore common sense, then you deserve to be scammed.

members still and will continue to not use common sense, either they can't read, don't choose to read or just blatantly ignore them

Kids don't read. I agree paypal should be mandatory, if you can't handle that then you need to conduct business on your own accord outside of the site.

Just having it there will help some not make a mistake.
Like I said though if all the info on what not to do is right in front of your face and you ignore it then it's your fault you get scammed.

Then make them read it, make them learn, make a new rule or something but force them. Just because they lack common sense doesn't mean SC should let scamming keep going on. I mean I know there are threads provided on teaching new members but they don't want to read it so we need to work around that.

Meet ups in a public place is no problem on this site, many of us still do it & it works. As for pay pal being mandatory sounds like a ok idea to me, you can still get scammed on pay pal but it's smarter then sending money orders or cash or w.e other form of payments are available.

This. I remember years back Money Orders were very popular, and I never had an issue with it.

Nowadays, it's a different story. Paypal or nothing.

I don't understand why people send people payments as a gift. It is not a gift, its a payment for merchandise! if a buyer request a payment as a gift only, even if you offer to pay the 4% then thats a big red flag, yet people still pay. If you have an agreement on here and pay with paypal and a seller does not send an item then paypal's BUYER ( not gift giver) protection should cover you.

If you are doing a trade save your self the risk of getting ripped off and spend the $20 for the sneaker exchange, of the other party does not want to do it, then again that is a big red flag!

The staff does not allow scammers and personally I hate that people rip members off, but in all honesty, almost all cases the buyer could prevent it or have their purchases covered if they follow the right steps.

We all would love for the marketplace to be 100% safe, but sadly it is not and even if we had a 1,000 mods policing it there would still be that scum bag trying to come off.

Most of the time (not all the time) the people getting scammed are the same people, that even if we had 10 pop up windows saying these are the rules, don't send money as a gift, check the sellers feedback, don't do a trade with out using the sneaker exchange, would still ignore all the warnings and not follow them.

I like the fact the the Mods and Admins are chiming In and giving their input and yes some of the stuff that people are getting scammed on are common sense issues but....... you guys always seem to run around the issues when people bring up

1. People not having tagged pics when posting stuff In the Marketplace.
( I remember when I first joined, I forgot to tag a pic once and I Instantly got a message saying that my listing had been removed because I didn't have tagged pics and to relist properly.)

2. A lot of people that are scamming don't get banned or removed all together, wether the person went through the proper steps or not for having a fraud case, Allowing people to still roam free and prey on people isn't cool and if someone sends a MOD/ADMIN a message saying they been scammed mot of the time when you contact the other person they won't respond so I see no reason to keep there account active unless you guys are really stuck on "Padding" the User Forum Members numbers because we all know good and well there are not 300,000......... now 315,000 members active in the community.

3. As far as More MOD/ADMIN users, since this seems to be a touchy subject for those who think people will become "Power" hungry or take advantage of their title why don't you just give them a title some thing different like "Fraud Rep" or "MP Rep" and those people can handle stuff that has to deal with accordingly and not really have anything to do with the overall threads and post and opening/closing threads and etc.

Just my suggestions chime In as necessary.

I totally know what you mean bro, there are so many members here & only like 40 something mods/admins but adding new admins or mods would only cause a problem cause then bitch fits would start, & I think it's stupid to let members with only negative feedback still be on the site chillin.

I agree with the mod/admin thing but I wouldn't mind being a mod if they allow me to. Not here for "power" or anything I just want to help out the community. I'll take the title of MP rep to help stop scamming.

Another member I would recommend is Drastic. Dude looks out for the community. Constant PCs on Jordans and hooked up a few members by selling cavs 4 for retail. I'd like to see him get a title.
