If i'm grandfathered in through T-Mobile (data plan), will I be able to get a unlimited data plan if I were to switch to AT&T?

No, being grandfathered in means you stay with the unlimited for a while, at least until you have to renew but you have to stay with T-Mobile

I expect this merger to take at least 2 years to complete and maybe by then they will have a NEW 4G service that nobody will be able to be grandfathered in.
