Please try not to hate us students or think of us an unruly. We riot nearly once a year this is third riot I've seen...yeah it's dumb but I don't know of any other school who shows their pride and school spirit that prominently and on a moments notice. We really just want one more game with Joe Pa and to see him go with dignity. It was somewhat of a relief to hear earlier that he was retiring at the end of the season, but it was so shocking when the student body found out Paterno was fired via a phone call. He deserves more respect than that.
Man, you're so lucky I'm not an admin anymore.
Why? You don't go to the school and you haven't been a fan since childhood. My parents grew up watching Joe Pa. To see the most beloved man on campus, one of the reasons many of the students came to Penn State, be fired and treated like he did not mean anything to the community. The board of trustees knew shit like this was going to happen if they fired Paterno. He's an icon and a living legend. If your beloved MJ were to be kicked out of the NBA...any time in his career, let alone his last home game of the season, would you be okay with that?
what if it was your kid that was in the shower getting molested and joe pa kept it under wraps? you are so delusional, its ridiculous. mj didnt cover up a child molester, to compare them is absurd. his whole career has been tarnished because he knew what happened and didnt stop it. who cares if your parents watched him, it doesnt change the facts. 400+ wins doesnt mean shit compared to 8+ people having to live with the fact that they were molested.

1998 - Victim 6 is taken into the locker rooms and showers when he is 11 years old. When Victim 6 is dropped off at home, his hair is wet from showering with Sandusky. His mother reports the incident to the university police, who investigate.
Detective Ronald Schreffler testifies that he and State College Police Department Detective Ralph Ralston, with the consent of the mother of Victim 6, eavesdrop on two conversations the mother of Victim 6 has with Sandusky. Sandusky says he has showered with other boys and Victim 6's mother tries to make Sandusky promise never to shower with a boy again but he will not. At the end of the second conversation, after Sandusky is told he cannot see Victim 6 anymore, Schreffler testifies Sandusky says, "I understand. I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I won't get it from you. I wish I were dead."
Jerry Lauro, an investigator with the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, testifies he and Schreffler interviewed Sandusky, and that Sandusky admits showering naked with Victim 6, admits to hugging Victim 6 while in the shower and admits that it was wrong.
The case is closed after then-Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar decides there will be no criminal charge.
June 1999 - Sandusky retires from Penn State but still holds emeritus status.
Can't post link because huf fingtonpost is spam around here I guess, SMH.
Someone convince me that Joe Paterno didn't know of this incident(s) and also try to convince Sandusky's sudden retirement (at age 55 when he was the heir apparent) wasn't related. Why was he never hired? This stuff has been "known" for years.
CHICAGO BULLS
He's a flopper. He just falls down and tries to get the calls. That's not good defense. - Michael Jordan

Joe Paterno had his life. These kids' lives won't be the same. If I were Paterno, I'd be happy all I was asked to is to leave immediately. Football isn't everything.
To the Penn State student/fan: You're making Joe Paterno bigger than the lives of these victims. For Paterno to keep coaching until the end of the season is saying that football, Joe Paterno himself is more important than what is going on.

Interesting.

sandusky is in facing life in prison, if you didn't know, he'll get his... no one is putting all the blame on Paterno, but if you can know that someone is raping children and don't call the cops, let alone don't stop it yourself if you have the chance, then you're a terrible, terrible human being, a piece of shit, and if getting fired is the worst that happens to you, you're getting off easy :smh:
I wish one of the parents who's kid got assaulted from 2002-2008 would stand in front of Paterno's house and ask him "my child didn't have to get molested if you would have done something, why didn't you?"

i bet any money joe sat down with him an confronted him about
it an the man denied it an being the good person he is he believed

No ones blaming Paterno for what Sandusky did. We're blaming him for brushing what he knew under the rug and essentially being a coward.
