Can someone please break down what is actually going for someone who isn't completely up to date on Penn State's football history and staffing roster. Shit is confusing.

Who did what and when and why is Pateno taking so much of the wrap for it and getting so much bad press when there were clearly other guys involved.

Thanks.

These are the basics.

Jerry Sadunky was a defensive coordinator under Joe Paterno until he retired in '98, but he still had access to Penn State's facilities. In 2002 Mike McQueary told Paterno that he saw Sadunsky performing sexual acts with a boy in the showers. Paterno told the athletic director Tim Curley about it. Nothing happened, Curley just said that Sadunsky could't bring children to the facilities anymore. So far only Sadunsky, Curley, and VP Gary Schultz have been charged.

News is that Joe Paterno will retire at the end of the season. President Graham Spanier is also expected to leave.

Btw, any of you guys think Ray Gricar is connected to all of this?

For those of you that don't know, this scandal was brought up previously. Ray Gricar was a prosecutor, and decided to not press charges against Sadunsky in 1998 after accusations of child molestation were made. Gricar then disappeared in '05, and is now presumed dead.

^I heard a hard drive from his computer had washed up on shore somewhere but nothing on it could be used. I wouldn't be surprised if he was, hopefully he drowned himself, which is what the rest of these scum deserve. I can't believe how gutless PSU is being, are they really gonna let this guy coach the rest of the season and retire when he wants to? fcking sick if anything happnes besides him being fired now and then sued for culpability the rest of his pitiful life by the victims

I always really liked Joe Paterno as a head coach. He showed loyalty, longevity, and all those intangibles you want out of a head coach. But if he knew anything about those sickening acts then he should be punished too.Life is more then just about sports and I can't respect or acknowledge his accomplishments on the field. If a grown man can turn his back on something so wrong he doesn't deserve to be seen in a good light. If he knew he was just as guilty as the child molester! His career should be tinted, if he even heard a whisper,or rumor anything.Penn State is a honorable school and what is happening shouldn't be reflected on them.It should be reflected on the ADULTS that were involved in any form shape,or fashion.I usually don't take strong judgement on criminal stuff but sexual abuse to kids is something I have no compassion for.People involved should be strongly punished for ruining helpless kids lives.

what blows my mind are all those people in penn state that are rallying and fighting for joe to stay as coach.

they're pretty much fighting to keep a winning coach and legend that harbored a known child molester for bout 9 years.

i guess winning games is all that matters to them and don't see anything wrong with having young kids sexually assaulted on their campus.

Joe Paterno and Graham Spanier have been fired...

Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling
And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel my pain just smile back"

if getting fired immediately is the worst these clowns get, its way too light... I hope that JoPa gets sued by 30 different people and lives the rest of his days in misery and shame...

and even better, Spanier is the chairmen of the bcs, if I recall correctly...
