Decided to pass on the Olympics. Not feeling them enough. Well that and a forum member let me in on a RS of some X's and I bought those instead.

$199 plus tax is surprising. My understanding is they were regular J MSRP...not more!

Penof, nice pick ups man.

I got 2 pairs of OLY VI's on R/D wasn't easy. Preorders being dead was a bad decision. It actually worked the other way around. Most resellers "Nowadays" are little kids who only have the money on R/D b/c they have to save up or hustle to get it. Preorders allowed the people who want the shoe and had money up front to be able to secure their pair. A simple restriction on how many you can preorder would have deaded any FSR purchases from a reseller. All it means now is the kids have more time to save up or hustle for the money- grown adults like most of us are now don't have time to be sitting in line for hours for kicks but to a teenager with nothing to do it's an adventure, money opportunity ($40 bucks profit to a teen is money to them), something to do or some resellers pay them to stand in line for them.

Preorders kept things organized and less chaotic on R/D. I think it was a very smart system. The shoes that were on preorders ALWAYS sold out and if people didn't pick up their pairs best believe other ppl would have. No good reason to stop it IMO.

Passed on the Olympics will pass on those gold medals too. Those VII's are horrendous- VI's look cool but even those aren't something that gave u that feeling when you saw the DMP VI's.

^ Truth.

What's their logic in getting rid of the pre-order system anyways? I would have figured it would give them a better idea of demand to forecast how much stock to carry, and they collect the cash up front, which, from a business standpoint is huge.

Major turnoff having to line-up for a sneaker.

No Frank Ocean, but I thought Nike cancelled the pre order system...

Perhaps it adds to hype and/or makes the sneaker more 'exclusive' because you had to line up or fight over it.

Anyways, I just farted.

Welcome to GTA!!!

Sneaker game? Did TO even had one? J/K

IMHO it's bigger than before but for the wrong reason (flipping etc.). I think 4-6 years ago was more exciting as the people you talk to during line-ups and summits share the same passion...collecting...

O ya and if possible keep a US mailing address( or family) since retail with tax here is 220ish not too bad if your used to it but when your used to 160 its a little rough
