I haven't watched the original series in literally over a decade and change, so I may be a bit off in comparing. The removed "filler" was actually the character development and dialogue between characters. They did little to none on removing filler from fight scenes . Volume 1 was 1/3 Raditz fight, 1/3 Saibamen and 1/3 Nappa. They literally rush right into the fighting and when then take their sweet ass time.
The other show I'm watching is Burst Angel. It's an okay show, I watched the first half and sort of half-assed the second [just let it play while I did chores or something]. I'll have it give the second half a rewatch soon.
Quite jealous of you Brian of those Haruhi blu-rays, .

Lol I only got The Disappearance on BD. The Meloncholy on BD costs $360 and that's fucking insane. I'm more then content with the DVD set I got for <1/10 that price. Even The Disappearance took a bit of pushing before I pulled the trigger.

Supposedly it has English subs and dub. However it's an 1080i upconvert so it's not worth getting. Especially at the price and I really like this show. However the second season is legit 1080p . Here's to hoping Bandai releases both on BD soon.

Haven't seen it for two reasons; still have a backlog of unwatched movies/shows and it has no English subs. The movie ran me $130 shipped.
No english subs? fuhhhhhhh!
