Surprisingly, I had a lot of trouble finding a single performance review here or online of the Air Jordan 1 (not the alpha) and the Air Force 1 (minus the fusions).

Does anyone know of a review online, or if you could write your own on either shoe? At one point in time these were the pinnacle of basketball shoe technology and now are branded as fashion statements.

1972 technology at its finest, PONG came out, the first hand held calculater from HP at $395, the list is short...lol

I have owned to many to count AF1s and Jordan 1s, performance is not there if you are looking for it, that is why it has been relegated to casual wear.

I quickly got rid of all but a handful of pairs of both as they do nothing but cause ankle and back pain for me, yes I am old. Yes I have played sports the majority of my life -thirty plus years( I am damn near forty). I now need shoes that will improve my gait and offer ankle support as well as proper ankle positioning. AF1s offers a flat footbed with little to no arch support. Even the high top Jordan 1s, the problem is lack of cushioning, energy return, ankle placement and lock down. There was little thought or rather there was no data to create a shoe based on anatomy to provide performance. Heck, performance was not even in the vocabulary of these newly emerging shoe makers. If it wasnt for a silver tongued marketing executive at Nike, Jordan would probably be at Adidas right now. (for those of you who dont know he gave the entire marketing budget to Jordan to sign- Jordan did not know this-this was how desperate Nike was, as Nike was in its infancy compared to today). The amount I believe was around $50,000, back then this was unheard of. Anyways....

Today sports technology has evolved to were if an athlete dared wear AF1s or Jordan 1s on the court, they would be scolded as if they were wearing dress shoes or loafers or sandals....that should alone should suggest its performance review.
