anyone awake? im standing here at work trying to figure out if i want these damn pewter foamposites. I really shouldnt because I need to get rid of kicks instead of getting more...but theyre so damn sickk
pandasan what do you shoot with?
I use a Canon 40D for personal stuff. For school, I mostly shoot with a Kiev 88cm, but I have a Nikon FM10 for when I need to do 35mm.
Right now I'm wanting my own 4x5. We have some old Sinar monorails, and -one- of these:

[b:e02aa07d6c]Truth.
But personally I think the whole "sneakerhead phase/fad" passed.
All the people that were into sneakers because they were in and cool are not buying stuff anymore. If anything they've become resellers which isn't even profitable anymore due to low demand.
At this point IMO anyone that is still collecting sneakers is doing if for the right reasons... because they like the sneakers they're buying and aren't simply buying into the hype. [/color:e02aa07d6c][/font:e02aa07d6c][/b:e02aa07d6c]
^The joy of collecting sneakers isn't as big as it was when it comes to online chating
and stuff. I'm not even sure anymore if people are collecting for showing off, or for
their joy and fun.

exactly my feeling. I just have too many pairs that I don't think I'll be wearing anymore. I've found myself wearing the same 10-20 pairs over and over just because most of my boxes are under my bed.

I bought the Electric Green Foam Pro's a while back and pair 60 over retail.[/quote:cec8b2bf4e]

I've always disliked the term sneakerhead or shoe game, but that's besides the point. Never understood collecting shoes either.
There are 3 types of buyers; those who like the shoe, those who like the attention the shoe will bring them, and those who are buying just to resell. There are more of the last two than the first. That's not gonna change.
Also the demand isn't low, it's just people aren't willing to pay absurd resell price. Nothing better than a reseller being stuck with a shoe and having to sell it for what he paid or less.
^ True indeed.
What don't you get about collecting shoes though? It's just like any other hobby. You aim to obtain things that aren't easy to come by.
I guess it comes down to your definition of collecting. I see things that should be collected are things that should be displayed, like artwork, memorabilia, etc. Not something meant to be worn like shoes.
Never thought of it as collecting, just buy a shoe if I like how it looks and feels.
Same can be said for video games. Some may consider all the ones they have their collection, I just see mine as a bunch of video games.
^^^ i understand both points of views. I think you should wear everything you have. But as a person who would buy everything I liked, I ended up with A LOT of kicks and then I would end up wearing some more than others. To the point where I have DS stuff that I meant to wear at one point but never did, and stuff that I have worn once or twice and just never gotten around to wearing again.
ex: I LOVEEEEEEE my Jedi's, I've probably word them twice since I got them when they dropped 6 years ago...and both times in the summer and the last time I wore them was with my ex to the Brooklyn Museum to go see the Murakami exhibit....a couple of years ago. Thats how much I love them. I can tell you time and place but I just havent worn them again. especially not in this shitty weather...
