I think that is a bit over board. Nike is told us about the price increase months ago. I am not sure why everyone is so upset about it. The Foam part had always been hard for thme to produce. That is why we didn't see much from 99-07. It cost them more than the other shoes to make.
We as the shoe buying public are a odd group. We want things the way we want it, in the color we want and we want it for free. Then we complain that everyone has the same stuff.

Prices go up because the costs to make the shoe and "transport" the shoes have gone way up. Nike is in it to make as much money as they can just like every other shoe manufacture.

I hear you jon, but I never ever thought that kicks would never eclipse the $150 mark. I can remember jays selling for $120. Now, they're $170. Living in The Bahamas, whenever the prices of kicks go up, I cringe, because that means that it goes up here as well. So, that means a shoe that costs $160-170 in the U.S costs $225+ here. So, if a shoe is going to retail for $200 or $225 that means that I'm looking at close to $300 here or the shoe won't see the light of day here. And unlike you guys, the price stays the same, NO discounts until they want to get rid of 'em(which will be the following year or so in a clearance sale and not in your size). And getting online is useless because what they will charge you for custims will cost you just as much as buying locally. So, that's why tI make noise more or less.

As for 'costs", it's called greed, not just from Nike but all around...

Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice

souljah slim, where are you from?
This is another way to think of it. it took from Summer 1997-summer of 2011 to go from $180 to $225 as a high. That is not as bad as it could be.

Bahamas, born and raised.

So, being a shoe head here is kinda hard and sometimes we don't get many of the shoes that I see on this site(the only Kobe's that came here were the IV) and if they do I pay way more than you do with no discount, it's not pretty. Heck, I know more than the people that work in the store...
