If I was Nike I would make Kobe wear the Elite. It looks bad that they are meant to be a better performance shoe for the playoffs and he's not even wearing them.
Idk. Kobe has been on the record saying that he does not like alot of zoom because it is too squishy. I mean it took him 3 shoes 4,5, and 6 to finally switch from the met bag at the fore foot to the full width zoom bag. There's even more zoom air in the Elites! And the fact that LeoChange and JP were not the original deisigner (Eric Avar was) did not go to Kobe and asked what he wanted on his Playoff/Elite shoe, this shoe isn't really built for the needs of Kobe like his regular 7s were.
jp and leo designed the kobe elites to mess with kobe's game.
I don't have facts, but I'm just going with what you are saying here.
