With so many different threads for all the different Lunar models with some good info in each, I find it gets a little annoying to find and look through them all. Thought it might be easier to just chuck all future releases and discussion of current models into one thread. Mods, feel free to lock or delete this if it seems unnecessary.

I'll start it off with the Lunar Orbit+

“The Nike Lunar Orbit+ lands as a fresh introduction for the Nike Sportswear Spring ‘11 collection. Inspired by the premium materials and meticulous fabrication of the original Nike Tech Pack jackets, this shoe features a breathable 3-layer mesh upper, asymmetrical zip, and raised geometric upper to increase air flow with limited surface contact on the foot.

Nods to the tech pack include welded bemis tape, coated zippers, smooth premium construction and superior comfort. This technical approach to footwear design represents an evolution for NSW as it pushes the boundaries on advanced craftsmanship combined with minimalist design aesthetic. Designer Nate VanHook brought his expertise in wetsuit design to this project, introducing a technical 3-layer mesh upper combining liner, EVA foam and a top-layer mesh.

No detail was overlooked, with a lazered sock liner to increase breathability, top-of-the-line Nike Running mid/outsole tooling, reflective seam seals, and GPS coordinates for Beaverton, Oregon etched along the asymmetrical zipper seam.”

Appears to have the same soles as the Lunareclipse which is currently my favourite shoe in terms of on-foot feel. Can't wait for these to release.

I have the Lunarglides and Lunarflys and they are one of my favorite new running shoes to wear anywhere.

I am going to definitely get a pair of Lunareclipse and Lunarwoods in the future.

Superb idea if you ask me, Phong.

I was very excited when I saw the Lunar Orbit+ in some sample pics earlier this fall/winter -- with these newer pictures I'm even more excited.

Roll on spring '11!

I'm showing a lot of support and respect for the Lunar running range that Nike is pushing, this is where the technology and quality control is going. While some of the colour-ways are passable (as per usual 95% of the colour-ways Nike put out are passable), the models themselves are the business. Personally also looking forward to what old technology they may fuse with new technology such as Lunar Wood, Lunar Flow and Lunar Air 180 to name a few.

I think its really interesting to see the acceptance this line has earned from pretty much all levels of the running shoe consumer.

With the sneaker enthusiast being the most discerning, by far, the fact that the line get as much attention as it does is just another example of Nike's dominance of the sneaker industry (notice not too many new models from NB, Adi, Ascics, etc being discussed around here).

I still need to grab a pair of lunar eclipses as they are my second favorite lunar model right now. I will always take the original lunar shoe over anything that has come out to date.

It's nice to see Nike producing good looking, decently made 'new' shoes. Makes a refreshing change from all the half-arsed, cheap looking retros that they endlessly seem to churn out these days...

In all honesty, the retro section of Nike does nothing for me. There are still a few shoes I perhaps would like to own, for example some older AM1's but at the same time I feel that there's just too much money involved. Where Nike as gone with the Lunar range is perfect for me, although I wish I could afford to buy a couple more models.

Regarding the lack of Adi/Asics/whatever, I feel that there aren't really "true" competitors to most of the Lunar models -- and if there are, please by all means: show me. One shoe I'm personally very interested about, and which I also think's a "competitor" is this one upcoming collaboration between Asics and Surface to Air, which I also started this thread for a few months back. Didn't get many replies, I tell you.
