Hey guys,
This one is for the hip-hop/baseball/Seattle fans out there... simple colorway but a little bit of a story as far as the inspiration:
Macklemore is one of my favorite artists right now (for the sneakerheads, "Wings" is one of the deepest songs ever made about the culture... for everyone else "Otherside" and "Same Love" are probably his most popular.
Anyway, in "Wings" he references his early obsession with sneakers at the age of 7 and the way it influenced his life. One line that I love is "Air Maxes were next, that air bubble that mesh, the box, the smell, the stuffing, the tread in school, i was so cool...". I recently fell in love with Air Maxes myself so I had to honor him with a pair. In another song, "My Oh My", Macklemore pays homage to the man who was the voice of the Seattle Mariners from 1977 to 2010, Dave Neihaus. I hate baseball but that song made me care about the city and the team (shouts out to EL).
Anyway, decided to do the Macklemore logo with a Mariners colorway on some Air Max 90s. On the other shoe I painted the Seattle skyline with a shark fin behind it because Macklemore's "movement" is the Sharkfacegang (similar to Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang). The end. That was long winded. Let me know what you guys think
