The 70's definitely is a mile stone in rock n roll. SO many great bands came up...i hated having to have to choose 5. I feel like with the 60's..there weren't as many great bands as the 70's. Instead, there were a few (about 10 or so) that would always have timeless names and records. With the 70's we could easily come up with a list of 20 and still have a hard time with it.

My top 5 of the 70s (in descending order):
Led Zeppelin
Queen
Pink Floyd
Black Sabbath
Van Halen

They're funk, but I've got to give a nod to Sly & The Family Stone. Just because without Larry Graham we probably wouldn't be slapping basses.

Can we name single rock acts like elton john / neil young etc... in our list or does it have to be the standard 3+ man band?
