Their first album as MGMT, Oracular Spectacular, debuted at number 12 on the UK album chart and number six on the Australian ARIA Charts, and hit number one on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. It has also been named the 18th best album of the decade by Rolling Stone magazine. It was named the best album of 2008 by NME. MGMT also appeared prominently in Australia's Triple J Hottest 100 2008, coming in 2nd with "Electric Feel", 5th with "Kids" and 18th with "Time to Pretend".
MGMT was nominated for the 2010 Grammy Award for Best New Artist, and their track "Kids" was nominated for Best Pop Performance By a Duo or Group with Vocals. Alright beezies. It's time to step your music game up. 5 bands, 5 eras - less dew eetttt.

Goal:
Establish a list of the best Rock n Roll bands, ever.

Rules:
- 5 groups per time period
- Everyone lists who they feel ruled that era. You base it off what YOU feel makes them worthy.
- We'll spend a week (hopefully) on each era. This will change depending on how much discussion we get out of it.
- You don't have to make an explanation for each band, but it'd be great if you could.
- Once we have finished an era, I'll tally the votes and post the top 5 winners.
- If you absolutely feel that a band you mentioned that didn't make the list should be there, prove why it should. Lists won't be finalized until were done with this decade
- Feel free to ask questions
-Bands CAN be repeated in 2 eras (Beatles can get a vote for 60's and 70's)
- You CAN go back and edit your post/change a vote if you change your mind. Just needs to be done before I tally the votes
- Keep it organized and interesting.
