I'd say they are one of the rarest sample huaraches. That pair and the other teal version and a huarache burst in the huarache racer are the only huarache samples I have come across that were never released. I have had my hands on some other huarache samples but they were just the samples of c/w's that got released. I couldn't see any difference either other than "sample" being written on the tag behind the tongue.

jim157.... what c/w of og's are you referring too? I am very interested. And i hate samples...because i wear a size 12...lol
From memory there was at least one different og colourway, as well as a 'Limited Edition' that was never released. Someone showed me the pics a few years back, although I'm sure one of them is on the net somewhere. I'll have a dig.

I'm not trying to put you down, as those are probably some of the rarest Huarache retro samples. The point I was trying to make is that I - like quite a few other people at the time - had several opportunities to buy a pair of these. A bit like the Opium Spiridons and a few other unreleased samples that ended up in the outlets over the past decade. The only thing stopping me was the size.
I have seen some pics of some unreleased og samples which I've never seen in the flesh. Saying that the could have been made in greater numbers than the teals but as it was pre-internet we'll never know.
Regardless, they're a very nice shoe.
Nah thats totally cool. I totally understand your point. I guess individually we will all see huaraches and think they are rarer then others.
I notice you are also from the UK. You mentioned you had several oppertunities to purchase these, was that online or in actual stores in the UK?
Why don't Nike re-release these as ID's? I know that people would come up with some AWESOME colourways.

I was offered them by friends/associates back then. Being a non sample size is unfortunate as I've had quite a few unreleased Nike samples that I've picked up in outlets over the years. I used to end up trading them or giving them away to mates.
Yeah, The LE and the Light would both be great shoes for the ID scheme. Perhaps Nike thinks that they dont have the global 'mass appeal' of the air max retros?

Well Huaraches have always been really popular in the UK but not so much in the USA until recently. So one could only guess that this might be the reason?
Most of the LE retro releases of the past ten years have been fairly random. The late 90's/early 00's retros were released in the USA and EU; seven or eight colourways from memory. Then Foot Locker Europe did three or four colourways in the mid 00's, I've lost track with releases since then though.
I dont see any reason for not making them part of the ID range, unless it is for manufacturing reasons?

i am interested too. please come through and edumacate us.

Considering that there's huarache samples about that I've only ever seen pictures of in the past twenty years or so.
Can i ask which huaraches you are referring to? Do you have any pics or links to pics of any of these ones you speak of?
Thanks
come on jim, show us!

Rarest Huarache samples ever? I know a couple of people that own a pair.
wow a whole TWO people.
Considering that there's huarache samples about that I've only ever seen pictures of in the past twenty years or so. Coupled with the fact that the teals were relatively easy to get hold of when they first appeared, means that they aren't the rarest huarache samples ever.
I suggest you wind your neck in unless you really know what you're talking about.

I know that AM have mass appeal as i remember back in the early 90's everyone had them. Even now i see so many people wearing them. But i also remember when huaraches were released, just about everyone had them as well. So i am sure they can gain the mass appeal required to create ID's.
Am i right in saying when they have released Le's they only release 1 or 2 colourways? Though i believe the colourways seem to vary from country to country.

yeah definately, also it´s been the 20th anniversary of the huarache and no real homage? fuck that! anyhow, the last round FL retros were available for 19⬠in the end each, people even got them for 7⬠with discount deals. now certain ones fetch 130 and more easily. and yeah, looking at the acg ones the toebox also gets rounder, I wonder how the next production round would turn out. and yeah, they can get the cw right, just please release em without a free sole again.....and the right cut.
