This is gonna be a bunch of controversy. But it will be interesting to hear what people in the Lounge have to say. Things will heat up. Try to keep a cool head guys.
I myself am one-sided in this topic but before I say anything, let's hear some responses.

I only sell off stuff that I initially got for myself but grew apart from. Can't knock the resellers from their hussle though, even though it kills me when I wait in line and don't get my pair and see the resellers get theirs

I agree. When the house of hoops thing first started the reselling game went off. Now that more and more HOH are open the "regular" P.E's don't have much of a resale value so it's getting better. But when there were a few HOH it was ridiculous, o.j mayo p.e's had lines, etc.

to continue our discussion from the derby thread haha. I will just go on the record as saying that i have resold. I do understand why some people do it. As im sure many did, i camped recenetly for the Space jam SBs and was able to get 4 pairs. However, only 2 i sold for profit, the other 2 i sold for a very reasonable price to pay back favors for hookups i had gotten in the past. My only major gripe with reselling at the moment is how pervasive and often ill-conceived it is. As i said, if there is actual money to be made (like with space jams, or any jordan XI) then it makes sense. But the fact that this is happening with literally every release, even GRs, is just showing the how the reselling game could arguably be bigger than the actual sneaker game. This is just my own perspective and morals, but id be happier knowing i let some kid get a pair he really wanted, then copping it, making someone pay $50 more just so i can make ~$20. And i think if we maybe helped the younger generation to understand that its cooler to help someone out, build a friendship, and grow the community, then having a few extra bucks, everyone would benefit.
This.
I have always believed in giving a good price to other sneaker heads. I sold my DS Platinum Griffeys for 110, after they had been out for a year. Sold DS Oreo 6's for 90 dollars....these were both to friends that were just getting into the game. I feel like, if you cop a shoe, and you keep it DS, let it age right, then you deserve a little profit for your patience and time. However, if you buy a shoe, turn around the next day and post it up for a 70 dollar profit....then your just a cancer to the shoe game. I also feel like, once you UN-DS a shoe, then you shouldn't try and sell it for more then what it sold retail. If everyone sold kicks for less, and everyone charged less for kicks....well, that's just good business. People should realize that sneaker collecting, it's a hobby, a great way to connect with other people, it crosses all racial and cultural lines. Why would anyone want to take advantage of that passion for an extra 50 bucks??

They're smart. Good way to earn money at a time like this.

Im 17 years old and im using reselling to do two things
1. Make enough money to get some of my grails that would be virtually impossible while going to college full time.
2. Im trying to make enough money to open my own sneaker spot in my city with a new spin on sneaker selling altogether.
I've been criticized on reselling like this but its my dream to have my own successful sneaker store and Il do anything to get there
