A truly awful performance. If I were Westphal, I'd tell people we're having practice in an hour after the game since, as a team, there was damn near no effort. Yes, guys like Hayes and Thompson played hard, but effort by just about everyone else was nil. The Kings top 3 guys (DMC, Reke, Thornton) freaking blew tonight.
Its a little blessing that they play back to back home games because right after such an embarassing performance, usually a team with pride wants to get back on the floor asap to wash the taste of the loss out of their mouth and prove that the last game wasn't indicative of how they are. Lets hope the Kings pride or balls kick in tomorrow because if they go 1-4 with 4 of those games being home games, look out.

I don't like it when fans boo their own players but I couldn't help myself during the 4th quarter when JT missed another FT. Those boos didn't just go out to JT, that goes for the whole fucking team. They got booed earlier when Tyreke "Tunnel Vision" Evans wouldn't pass the ball to a clearly open teammate during a 2-on-1 fastbreak.
Westphal is losing this team. Check out what Tyreke said. "Everybody keeps blaming the coach, about the plays, the plays not (being) good, but, hey, it be like that sometime. You've just got to play." Also, during Cousins post-game interview he kept saying "Just go play hard and do what coach says" over and over again. It sounds like he's saying "We're just doing what coach says, don't blame us".
I agree with TomA, if this team doesn't bring the effort tonight, fire Westphal.

His agent is saying he never demanded for a trade...so is Westphal throwing out bullshit? This is all extremely disappointing.

The whole DMC story is weird. Sounds like Cousins and Westphal had it out in Westphal's office and part of that included something to the effect of "if you don't like how I play so much, trade me" type talk. Most trade requests usually come from the player's agent to the GM and/or Coach. DMC's agent says he's not spoken of or asked for a trade. Perhaps it's Westphal misunderstanding the situation and not recognizing the guy is just frustrated? Maybe this happens all the time and this is the last straw. In all honesty, Westphal shouldn't have made this so public IF the goal is to trade him because now all you'll get is lowball offers. Even if the guy is toxic, you can't let everyone in the league know that because you'll lose potential suitors. Bottom line is this should've been kept in house. I'm going to wait and see what comes out in the next 24-48 hours to try to get a wrap around what is really going on.
