flickr is free! It's only the pro membership that costs ... or have I slept on something?

once you get more then 200 photos you have to pay or you won't see all your pictures.

you cant afford to pay $25 a year lol?

make a blog on wordpress or something just upload lower res files since theres a like a 3gb limit per year.

i can. i just wouldn't pay for something that I can get free. i feel like it's pointless.

What's goin' on everyone? I'm VERY VERY new to cameras and was looking to get one in about a week or 2. My gf and I have really been intrigued by the new Sony NEX series cameras. We're in no need for a real fancy nice camera but we just liked the look and performance on the NEX series. Any opinions on those? Anything helps...thanks in advance.

they are good cameras but if you think you may start pursuing photography more seriously that arent so great, there's minimal availability of lenses and its not to easy to control the settings...the nex 7 is pretty dope, but i would lean towards an slr personally...

i would only suggest the nex system if 1) you are only going to be using it as a hobby like snap shot camera or 2) you have a lot of manual focus lenses you would like to use on it (with adapter).

image quality wise, the nex 5n and nex 7 are great.. comparable to canon and nikon dslr cameras (with the aps-c sensor of course). the downside is the lens selection.. currently there are 7 lenses (i think). its really up to you.. how far are you thinking of pursuing photography? if you wish to turn it into something bigger one day i would suggest investing into a dslr system first.

THANKS to both of you for your advice. I don't really think I'll be pursuing photography too seriously. Basically the camera is going to be a "family" camera where we just use it for vacations, basic photography, and to capture the younger years of our daughter.

^It's worth it, if you think it's worth it

flickr allows you to have high quality pictures and enables you to access original file sizes. In addition, to give you more exposure with other great photographers.

Other places picasa, blogs suffice to, depending on serious you are into photography.

ive seen em sell w/ the kit lens for about 450, some people sell em for more, some for less. it all comes down to the condition of the camera and luck...

Nikon SB-600
Rokinon 85mm 1.4 | Sigma 30mm 1.4 | Tokina 11-16mm 2.8

well ive seen refurbished t1i's go for around 500 with the 18-55 kit lens. for your sake you should go within the 400s area.
