There has to be an afterlife because it's very hard to believe after someone dies that their mind just shuts down.

....you never took a science class in highschool?

The only thing you leave when your gone, is your skeleton. The after life is kind of trippy, so is religion. Hopefully, by the time I'm dead....I will be dead, and not have to worry about if their is an afterlife or not.

I don't think that the notion of an afterlife is necessarily embedded in organized religion. Religion is non sensical to me, no offense, and the only logical conclusion I can think of is that organized religion is an attempt to ascribe what we already know to the basic idea of good and bad. God and Satan, heaven and hell, sin and salvation. Nothing but human attempts to understand god and bad and how it relates to how we live our lives. So I agree with j_collector that it all depends on how you live your life. Afterlife is just a result of the impact that you leave while you are living. That's just what I think though lol, too many philosophy classes.

I don't remmember but i was smoking a few weeks ago and I was thinking about this topic,The universe is big, and we are just another dot in an ocean. If there are aliens and when they die, will there be alien angels?? or is heaven mixed with races or we go to separate places haha..

Call it what you want, faith, belief, whatever. It still doesn't provide answers.

Is it really? It's a bit of a cold truth but when things die, they die. They don't adapt, learn knew things or change [other than decomposition]. Like I said, the afterlife is something we'd all love to have. If I die and end up in some form of afterlife, I will be pleasantly surprised. If I die and just wither away, well, it sucks but I sort of expected it.

Now I'm not some angry atheist. I'm a casual church go-er. Go for the moral lessons occasionally but the environment is not for me. But I don't like living life with my head in the sand or just expecting the best for myself in life.
