Why?

I have no idea.

But way back in 1997, for some weird and unexplained reason, an odd Nike Tennis and Jordan Brand sample was created, with the Air Jordan X's storytelling bottom anchoring the shoe.

Well I suppose tennis and basketball shoes are both Court shoes, so it could work as a outright tennis shoe, traction make not be the greatest without the herringone outsole
