For the second straight year, Oklahoma City Thunder forward and NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant held his Nike Basketball Skills Academy in Chicago, Illinois last week. Not only did KD host some of the nation's top high school basketball players, but also several notable young college phenoms, like North Carolina's Harrison Barnes and Austin Rivers of Duke. With help from special guests like Dee Brown, KD gave the youngsters in attendance some tips on how to handle themselves on and off the court.
To do something special for the Skills Academy prospects, Durant had a special colorway of his Zoom KD III made. The OKC-inspired shoe features a bright orange patent leather base with white and photo blue accenting, including a speckled rubber outsole. Check out a photo of the shoe below, as well as a brief recap video of the event.
