For Act 2 of his tenure as a member of the New York Knicks, Amar'e Stoudemire may or may not wear this Player Exclusive colorway of the Zoom Hyperdunk 2011. For a few reasons. First, Amar'e hasn't exactly been Mr. Reliable when it comes to putting Nike's new basketball product on the court, opting for PE colorways of the Zoom Huarache Trainer last season. Second, as we noted last week, Amar'e is a sneaker free agent and may very well end up endorsing an entirely new brand next season. Either way, it's not a lock that we'll ever see these worn at Madison Square Garden.
Nevertheless, the shoes do exist and they're definitely worth taking a look at. With Knick-inspired royal blue and orange setting the tone, the shoe is curiously accented by what appears to be a camouflage underlayer along the side panels and toebox. Amar'e's "AS1" logo is stamped on the tongue in white, orange and blue. Orange also works the inner liner, heel counter and midsole, which is finished off with a blue rubber outsole.
We're still uncertain of what move Amar'e will make in terms of his sneaker free agency, but we'll continue to keep you posted here at Sole Collector.
