Tonight marks the return of one of the single most beloved shoes from Michael Jordan's signature line, the "Cement" Air Jordan IV. With this in mind, we thought it'd be a great time to take a stroll down memory lane back to the 1988-1989 NBA season, when MJ wore the original pair.
You could arguably file 88-89 as Michael's best all-around season in the NBA. Once again leading the league with an average of 32.5 points per game, Jordan also posted career highs in rebounds and assists per game with 8 in each category. He was also 1st Team All-NBA, 1st Team All-Defense and an All-Star. Unfortunately, it was also the second of three consecutive seasons in which the Chicago Bulls were eliminated from the playoffs by the Detroit Pistons.
Throughout the season, Michael wore the White/Cement, Black/Cement and "Fire Red" colorways of the Air Jordan IV.
