Originally released in March of 2002, this was the first colorway of the Air Jordan XVII to get retroed. However, when it was retroed it featured a nubuck upper rather than an all leather one like these originals. While the $200 price tag still scared people off, they did better than the "college blue's." They came packaged in a black suitcase with the same cd-ROM found with the previous color. The lace covers once again were removable giving the owner a chose to wear the shoe with or without it, and the "peel here" stickers could be found on chrome plate wrapping around the back of the shoe to protect it from getting scratched.
