Known as the "taxi's" this was the first colorway released for the Air Jordan XII. It came out in right around the beginning of the 1996-97 NBA season, in November '96. These retailed for $135, which was a $10 jump from the retail price of the previous Air Jordan model, the XI. This was also the only colorway of the XII to be released in 1996, as the four colorways released after all came out in 1997. These were first retroed in 2004, but as a low top for the first time. It finally came back in its true form in December of 2008 packaged alongside the Air Jordan XI in the final Jordan Collezione (Countdown) Package released. Due to the first retro being a low, many people disregard it, and consider the 2008 release as the first true retro of the "taxi's."
