The sixth signature shoe for Michael Jordan, the Air Jordan VI debuted in 1991. This was the first colorway released, and featured a different shade of red on them. Traditionally "fire" red was the official colorway, but for the VI's it was replaced with the infamous "infrared." They retailed for $125 and this original colorway took eighteen long years before it was finally retroed. While the white/black-varsity red VI Retro released in 2010 is considered the new version of these, the original "infrared" color scheme was released alongside its black/infrared counterpart in a very special limited edition Air Jordan VI Retro Infrared pack, released in 2010 as well. These OG's came with the unique lacelock that was first seen with the Air Jordan V, but this time with just the lock and not the clear plastic casing it was in.
