With the turn of the decade, the ’90s brought a new Air Jordan model: the Air Jordan V. They were inspired by the unique “Grey Nurse” paintjob on the World War II British fighter plane, the Supermarine Spitfire Mk VIII. Another unique feature on these is the reflective 3M tongue. Not to mention the lace lock technology which was very new and advanced for its time. This colorway was retroed in 2000 during the first return of the V, and then again in 2008 in the V/XVIII Collezione (Countdown) Package, but with an added "23" stitched on the side.
