This was the final original Air Jordan III released in 1988. It is known as the "true blue's" and got its nickname from the colorway description. These were first retroed in 2001 and although there are an original colorway, they did not feature "Nike Air" on the back of them like the black/cement retro a few months before. This was the beginning of the end for original colorways of retro's featuring "Nike Air" on them. From that pair forward, they all featured a "Jumpman" in their place. They were later retroed for a second time in 2009, but were an international release, never coming to the U.S. The 2011 retro however, is a worldwide general release which should satisfy all those who have been craving a pair of "true blue's."
